Efficient preventive care is key to having a healthy smile. Consistent checkups will allow our team to diagnose tooth decay, jaw and muscles imbalances, gum disease, sleep-related issues, and oral cancer before they become a problem.
Let's restore your teeth to their natural glory. With a combination of operative and prosthodontic care, we will keep your teeth looking and feeling their best.
Broken tooth? We can often restore that tooth with same-day porcelain treatments!
We want you to feel confident with your smile. Using the latest techniques and materials, we can help you transform your style, and brighten your smile.
Your gums and bone are the foundation for establishing a healthy and beautiful smile. Let's fortify your teeth by tackling gingivitis and gum disease together.
The vitality of your smile depends on the vitality of your teeth. Endodontics refers to the treatment and care of the nerves and blood supply to those vital structures.
A healthy and functional bite requires a full complement of teeth. Implants are biocompatible teeth replacements that keep you functioning at full force.
Take control of your look and get those teeth to stand straight at attention! Orthodontics is a great way to fix crowded, crooked, or misaligned teeth in a non-invasive way.
Introducing your children to the dentist at an early age is the key to giving them the gift of healthy teeth for life. Let's get your kids excited about oral health!
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end; and, sometimes, that even includes your tooth. We'll make your dental extractions easier than "pulling teeth."
Offering you the latest in dental hygiene technology, with a
"no-scrape, no-vibration"
bacterial decontamination of the oral cavity.
Introducing the Airflow system for Guided Biofilm Therapy!

Obstuctive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a serious medical condition that has its origins in the posterior oral cavity. Snoring, daytime fatigue, and certain medical conditions can be signs of a sleep-related breathing disorder (SRBD).
Dentists are required to screen for OSA, but we'll take it much further. If we suspect an underlying SRBD, we'll make sure you get the necessary testing, diagnosis, and treatment to manage your condition.

Porcelain Veneers
Commonly called "cavities," caries is the result of a shift from healthy to detrimental bacteria in the mouth. In the abscence of adequate oral hygiene, these acid-resistant and acid-forming bacteria create a highly resistant and tenacious biofilm (or colony) on the surface of teeth, which we refer to as plaque. When exposed to dietary sugars, the bacteria produce harmful acid that slowly demineralizes the healthy enamel and dentin, leaving a weakened, porous and sometimes cavitated surface behind. If the caries extends through the enamel into the dentin, or if a cavitation is already present, the treatment is a dental filling; but sometimes caries can be treated non-operatively by frequent dental scalings to remove oral biofilms, and by professional fluoride applications, which can reverse the early stages of dental caries.
Also known as "gum disease," periodontitis is the loss of the tooth's clinical attachment, which often manifests itself as bleeding and irritated gums, mobile or migrating teeth, gum recession, and foul breath. When oral biofilms (or plaque) are allowed to remain adjacent to or below the gum line for an extended period of time, the harmful bacterial mediators cause a chronic hyperactive inflammatory host response, which has the unfortunate result of breaking down the adjacent supporting tooth structures (i.e. gums and bone) in retreat of the plaque. The initial therapy is often with scaling & root planing, but often additional surgical therapies are indicated to restore the healthy architecture of the underlying bone and supporting structures to facilitate adequate hygiene and maintenance, and prevent disease progression and recurrence. A link has been shown between periodontitis and other systemic chronic inflammatory disease processes such as heart disease and diabetes.
Commonly called "deep cleaning," scaling and root planing refers to two separate procedures often performed in the presence of periodontal disease (or "gum disease"), and usually under local anesthesia. The first, scaling, is a procedure performed to remove all supragingival and subgingival (i.e. above and below the gum line) plaque and calculus from the surfaces of teeth. The reason being, plaque is the primary etiological factor, although others exist, for the development and progression of periodontal disease. The second, root planing, is a procedure performed to remove all the irregularities along the newly exposed root surface, which formed in the presence of the periodontitis, to provide a more cleansable surface which is less receptive to plaque buildup and disease recurrence.
Sometimes heavily restored or fragile teeth, such as those with large fillings or root canal treatments, need extra protection from further damage. A crown (a.k.a. cap) is an extracoronal full coverage restoration designed to redirect the forces of occlusion from a wedging to a bracing effect on the remaining natural tooth structure. This provides additional support to the tooth and may prolong the lives of structurally compromised teeth.
A bridge is used to replace an edentulous space in the mouth by suspending a pontic (floating crown) in between two abutment teeth, each of which receiving a crown.
Crowns and bridges are available in a variety of materials and tooth colours to mimic your natural dentition.
Dental pain can be caused by a number of conditions, and cracked tooth syndrome can be one of the most difficult to diagnose. It is a clinical diagnosis and usually can not be seen of radiographs or dental imaging unless it is advanced.
When a crack begins to propagate within a tooth, either from occlusal trauma or around existing restorations, it may present as tooth sensitivity or a sharp electrical pain upon chewing, and typically during the opening motion. This is because the chewing pattern creates a wedging force along the crack which causes it to flex open and stimulate the nerve of the tooth.
If the crack is left to propagate, it may result in irreversible nerve damage (necessitating a root canal treatment), or a fracture of the crown of the tooth (necessitating an extraction, restoration, or crown).
Grinding is a form of parafunction (function that is outside what is normally intended for teeth) and can be detrimental to the health of your teeth, restorations, musculature, and the supporting temporomandibular joint (TMJ) complex.
Bruxers often display worn, flattened, or shortened teeth, and they may experience frequent headaches, TMJ pain, or sore jaws.
The cause of teeth grinding is centrally-mediated, meaning that it is a subconscious nervous system response to various stimuli such as stress, occlusal interferences, sleep apnea, or trauma.
The treatment is usually an occlusal splint (i.e. nightguard) to protect the teeth from grinding against each other. Sometimes a sleep study is recommended if sleep apnea is the suspected cause of the grinding.
